I'm seriously so annoyed, twice in three weeks- what are the odds? I think I'm making up for going 6 years without being sick. The worst part of it all- I have yet to see 2 (count 'em-2) brand spanking new babies. and really what is better than new babies, nothing is what.
I have a new niece, can't wait to see her. I'm sure she's beautiful, but I wouldn't really know. And my cute friend had a beautiful baby boy. I'd love to go cuddle and sniff their heads (cause that's the best smell ever-fountain of youth even) give moms a break, take some dinner over-you know love them by feeding them. but I have to wait. so so rude Mr. strep.
On a less complaining note I'm actually really grateful for antibiotics. seriously. death one day, not so much the next. The only lingering thing is the pain when I yawn, and that's just weird. I love a good yawn, but lately I have to stifle them so I don't feel like I'm ripping my throat in two, and that leaves the yawn very unsatisfying- and what's worse than an unsatisfied yawn?

sick as a
I now fully understand the terms sick as a dog, and feel like I've been hit by a train, or other large vehicle. I haven't been sick-as in immunologically challenged in about 10 years.that's my best guess anyway since I can't actually remember the last time I was sick. Oh I've had kidney stones, given birth, and other painful things. but not sick until this weekend. strep. I hear it's much harder on adults, and I actually believe it. Now for more ibuprofen, more antibiotics, and more sleep.

Gifts
Alas Christmas is done for another year, but I think this particular one will be remembered for a few years as the Christmas of the "stomach flu". You heard, or rather read, correctly. We were a house full of the plague on Christmas day. that was a particularly nice gift from school this year, the next-door-neighbor boy who is in Em's class also brought the plague home to his family as well.
No visits to grandma and grandpa's house, no going out to the movies. just sleeping and intermittent bowl hugging. sad to say but I'm glad this Christmas is over. The girl child was the first to get it, and the first to recover. it was one of those quick bugs. so she was raring to go while mom & dad were still sleeping the day away. I think she watched 3 movies and read 2 books in all while we were checked out. I think I only saw about a half of a movie, though not necessarily the same movie, and heard in a comatose state the books she was reading-it made for some crazy dreams. Maybe next year will be better. maybe I'll keep her home for a few days longer to ensure any sicknesses are through before Christmas, now there's an idea.

Spicy
I need to add some spice to my life, and not the kind where you have heartburn a few hours later, but the kind that comes from fun sparkly nails or some other equally exciting thing. I 've gone from a medium to a barely mild kind of spice.
I think I officially have the winter blahs, and it's not even winter yet (3 more days I believe). Not the whole SAD kind of winter blahs, but the kind where I'd much rather sit in front of a fire and read a book than get chores done, for days in a row, and it doesn't even have to be a good book, a history of the water filter would do.
This is quite the predicament I face since I have 2 batches of caramel needing to be wrapped, truffles to dip and our neighbor gifts to deliver. What ever am I going to do? Where can I find my spice?
Slamming a tim-tam is a-maz-ing, but it tends to leave one more on the diabetic coma side of lethargy, and I need some pep people. So that is out of the question for the next few days.
Maybe it will come to me while I trudge through my chores today, and I can be spicy and sparkly again. but probably not. so on I go to trudge.
