crisis situation averted

Emma- no reason

Thanks to some good advice, a fabulous husband, and a neighbor worthy of sainthood I am no longer a stressed out zombie. Unfortunately The Schroeder has stared to stress out (finally) and is in the cave of doom that I was in a few days ago.

I'm feeling pretty good about things right now because somehow we managed to convince a reluctant young woman to go with us- a feat worthy of Hercules even. Now to help her get packed and her clothes figured out... It's a good thing the dang flag is done-ish, heavy on the ish.
But really there are 2 days left and maybe 10 more things to do- I think it'll be ok in the end, and if we forget something it's no big deal.

Hopefully the thing I don't forget is something really important like the tents, more likely it'll be a personal comfort like deodorant, and I'll be the smelly kid for the trip. Even so, it's no big deal.

  1. Consider yourself lucky to be able to bring deodorant. When I went, they were super strict about what we could take. No personal hygiene products except our tooth brush. Not even shampoo! We got to wash our hair one time in a river with dish soap. There was two boys in my group that duct taped beef jerky to their bodies. They actually made them take it off and hand it in. Lets hope they are not so mean these days. ;-)

  2. Just bring TP.
That's all I have to add.
    You'll thank me later.

  3. I would never forget deodorant, moisturizer, hand lotion, lip balm, or anything like that. I would have blisters on my feet, and then I'd die on the trail. Have a wonderful time - I love to hear about these things from other people. They always sound fun, but I know I'd be a disaster actually doing them! Kudos on the reluctant young woman. Wave your flag(ish) proudly.

Glad I came into this story after it was all done because I think I would have had to STRENUOUSLY object to you doing this insane thing. Flagish--new fav
